A substantial hand-thrown studio pottery vase by Wold Pottery, North Yorkshire, decorated in distinctive brown and cream horizontal bands associated with the pottery’s Routh Original Range.

Made from red terracotta clay and finished with slip decoration, the vase has a warm, earthy appearance with natural variation in the glaze and surface that reflects its handmade character.

The base carries the impressed WOLD HANDTHROWN mark together with potter’s initials attributed to Jill Christie.
