Biot France Blue Bubble Glass Tall Tumblers Pair Signed Hand Blown

A superb pair of signed Biot France tall drinking glasses, individually hand-blown using the distinctive verre bullé bubble-glass technique associated with La Verrerie de Biot.

Each glass has an elegant cylindrical form with a pale aqua-blue body graduating into a richer blue at the substantial heavy base. Characteristic bubbles and elongated air inclusions run throughout the glass, giving every piece its own handcrafted appearance.

Each glass is signed BIOT underneath.

At approximately 20.5 cm tall and weighing around 550 g each, these are particularly impressive and substantial examples of Biot glassmaking.

Each purchase includes one pair—two glasses.

Condition

Very good pre-owned condition with no chips or cracks observed.

Because these pieces were individually hand-blown, natural variations are present in the bubbles, colour, shape and glass texture. These variations are characteristic of Biot’s traditional glassmaking process and are not faults.
