Description

Substantial British studio pottery lidded storage jar, hand thrown in heavy stoneware and finished in a rich dark tenmoku style glaze with a subtle metallic sheen.

The jar has a rounded, well balanced form with visible throwing lines and a fitted lid that sits neatly into the top gallery. It has strong decorative presence while also being suitable for use as a storage jar, covered vessel or statement studio pottery display piece.

The base bears a small impressed potter's mark resembling a stylised swan.
