Large hand-thrown and hand-painted pottery jug by Porches Pottery of the Algarve, Portugal.

Decorated with traditional cobalt-blue floral and scrolling motifs over a white glazed ground, with a shaped pouring lip and decorative curved handle. The base is signed "Porches 56".

An attractive example of Portuguese studio pottery, ideal as a decorative jug, vase or addition to a Mediterranean pottery collection.
